The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all technical activities related to the interaction of production with Engineering and Quality Assurance. This position manages, coordinates and ensures manufacturing needs as it relates to engineering and quality issues and assures these are resolved within designated timelines. This includes new product introductions, existing product and process improvements, lean six sigma projects and capital projects. This role will also support continuous improvements as it relates to engineering and quality opportunities throughout the plant.

Summary

·        Manage, resolve and implement solutions to engineering issues that are identified in manufacturing

·        Actively lead and manage continuous improvement projects throughout manufacturing

·        Work with Engineering on manufacturing process improvements, tooling improvements and testing improvements

·        Work with Engineering on development of new products, build of first articles and implementation of engineering changes

·        Manage, resolve and implement solutions to quality issues that are identified in manufacturing

·        Resolve supply chain quality issues as required

·        Update manufacturing drawings for Engineering as required

·        Resolve tooling issues and coordinate new tooling with Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers

·        Communicate with others to problem solve daily issues

·        May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Quality management and improvement experience

·        Hands on manufacturing engineering experience in a multi-product, multi-process, fast paced manufacturing environment

·        Strong leadership skills including the ability to prioritize

·        Experience Continuous Improvement, Lean Tool Box, Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies

·        5+ years manufacturing experience

·        Previous experience in Safety Management and knowledge of OSHA requirements

·        Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS:                                            

·        Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

·        Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in person, on the phone, and in writing

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:                                                            

·        Internet based software

·        Order processing software

·        MS Office

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·        The employee must have adequate hearing and visual acuity. The position requires being seated a good portion of the day. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

PPE REQUIREMENTS:

·        In compliance with OSHA standards it has been determined that Safety glasses and footwear are required on the plant floor

·         

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

·        Working environment is in an air-conditioned cubical with occasionally physically going into an unheated/air- conditioned manufacturing/warehouse setting where the employee may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, cleaning solvents, lubricants, or noise

·        Up to 10% travel may be required

WORK HOURS:

·        Expected to work 40+ hours weekly

·        Typical office hours are worked between 7am-6pm Monday thru Friday
