Summary

The Controller will provide leadership ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all Prime Design financial planning, reporting, and controls. This position will maintain company accounting procedures in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as lend insights and guidance contributing to the achievement of business targets and objectives. Must have excellent communication skills, great organization skills, experience implementing processes and procedures, and be adept at partnering with a variety of individuals and departments across the organization.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:      

·      No direct reports

COMPETENCIES:                               

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

·      Direct and coordinate Prime Design financial reporting and budget management functions.

·      Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of Prime Design along with individual departments. Implement related reporting metrics for early warning detection and correction of unfavorable performance occurrences.

·      Lead the monthly financial close process.

·      Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior year.

·      Lead daily operations of the accounting department.

·      Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

·      Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

·      Prepare financial forecasts.

·      Complete special projects and financial analysis for discussions with management concerning product life cycle and/or pricing actions.

·      Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

·      Implement department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

·      Assist the corporate accounting team with audits as required and provide recommendations for process improvements.

·      Coordinate, control, reconcile, and report physical inventory results.

·      Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles in a manufacturing environment, including a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

·      CPA license a plus (active status not a concern).

·      Experience in ERP reporting systems (Infor Syteline is a plus).

·      Knowledge of local, state, and federal financial regulations.

·      Ability to analyze financial data and prepare/present financial reports, statements, and projections.

·      Working knowledge of short-term and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product costing analysis for items with complex bills of material.

·      Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects.

·      Ability to participate in and lead group meetings.

·      Strong MS Office skill set, especially Excel.

·      Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in finance, accounting or economics is a plus.

·      5+ years of experience in a manager-level accounting position in a manufacturing environment.

·      Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:                                        

·      Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

·      Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in person, on the phone, and in writing

COMPUTER SKILLS:                                                        

·      Proficient in Excel

·      Basic understanding of Order processing software and Manufacturing Resource Planning tools

·      MS Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·      The employee must have adequate hearing and visual acuity. The position requires being seated a good portion of the day. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

PPE REQUIREMENTS:

·      In compliance with OSHA standards it has been determined that Safety glasses and footwear are required on the plant floor


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

·      Working environment is in an air-conditioned office with occasionally physically going into an unheated/air- conditioned manufacturing/warehouse setting where the employee may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, cleaning solvents, lubricants, or noise

·      Up to 10% travel may be required

WORK HOURS:

·      Expected to work 40+ hours weekly

·      Typical office hours are worked between 7am-6pm Monday thru Friday
