Pressure Systems International (PSI) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support and enhance the organization’s accounting function. This role is responsible for overseeing key accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and strengthening internal controls in support of timely financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with leadership to provide financial insight, support business decisions, and help scale accounting processes as PSI continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with analysis and commentary on results.
- Perform financial analyses to determine trends, estimates, significant changes, and provide narratives explaining findings.
- Develop new analyses and reports as needed to explain financial results.
- Analyze and report on sales channel and product line sales and profitability.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to the General Manager as needed.
Close Processes & Reconciliations
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring journal entries, closing activities, analysis, and reports are accurate and timely.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, including cash accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Lead annual budget and quarterly forecast processes.
- Analyze performance vs. budget and report variances with causal analysis.
Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules.
- Apply a working knowledge of applicable accounting practices and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Review work prepared by junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed.
- Review processes, recommend improvements to streamline where possible, and create new processes where needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations.
Cost Accounting & Inventory
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods and developing/analyzing cost standards.
- Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, including for small businesses.
- Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Investigate inventory variances.
Other Duties
- Maintain periodic cross-training to support as backup for AR and AP positions and help manage these functions.
- Manage fixed assets and capital spend.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA designation preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- High level proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
