SUMMARY:

The Applications Engineer (AE) will be responsible for supporting the technical aspects of our SafeLink portfolio. This portfolio consists of OmniPlex Multiplexing System, SafeTrack Asset Tracking System and ACE (Automated Control Environment).  The AE will need to be in our Fire Research facility located in Nesconset, NY.

The AE works closely with customers to train them to understand our SafeLink portfolio, so that the customers are self-sufficient with our products.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Setup, program, wire our SafeLink products.
  • Become an expert regarding SafeLink products.
  • Be on the customer site to support new system installations into fire apparatus, ambulances, and other applications.
  • Assure assigned products are properly implemented at vehicle manufacture’s sites.
  • Put together light engineering drawings, such as harnesses with AutoCAD.
  • Educating and training of customer base and sales organization.
  • Continuously identify current product gaps.
  • Learn the applications; fire apparatus and ambulances.
  • Support sales by providing technical assistance via email and/or on site visits with sales.
  • Support production testing of the SafeLink products.
  • Up to 50% travel required. This may increase during the first few years of ramp up, then will drop below 50% after the second year.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:     

  • 5+ years of technical experience working with embedded control systems, CAN based systems and/or PLCs.
  • 2+ years of customer-faced experience.
  • Programming skills, of at least PLC level to support our PLC environment.
  • Bachler’s Degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or computer science.

New York Salary range: $90,000-120,000
