Accounts Payable Clerk
About The Position
Safe Fleet a leader in the truck equipment manufacturing industry, is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to work as part of an accounting team In Gladwin MI.
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payment transactions. This role supports the finance department by maintaining organized records, verifying financial data and resolving invoice discrepancies to keep payments running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval and correct coding.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents when applicable.
• Enter invoice data into Net Suite and maintain up-to-date vendor files.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments and other disbursements.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly.
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items.
• Assist with month-end closing tasks.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic and paper files.
• Support audits by providing documentation when requested.
• Assist with other accounting or administrative tasks as needed.
• Generate 1099 forms for contractors.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
• 1–2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
