Engineering Manager, Nesconset, NY

Position Summary:

The Engineering Manager will actively demonstrate and drive the use of robust engineering processes and documentation by:

  • Leading the engineering team to produce new products and to respond to new vehicle launches, new markets, and new product applications;
  • Encouraging the growth and development of all Engineering personnel;
  • Collaborating with all departments to drive increased profitability and customer satisfaction;
  • Working with the Product Managers and Divisional Management to develop project scope and priorities

  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Ability to perform field diagnostics and work with external suppliers and customers to diagnose product issues.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products.
  • Experience working with suppliers and customers to create solutions for custom customer applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field with 10+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing setting. BA in Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • Design experience with electro/mechanical products and control systems.
  • Proven track record of successful product development and new product launches.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Product Development Stage Gate Experience
  • Strong product design experience
  • Quality Management System experience

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal document
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Strong experience in engineering software packages, design processes, organizational methods, project management / planning and cost analysis.
