Headquartered in Lakewood, NJ, American Van Equipment began manufacturing and supplying local companies with ladder racks and van shelving in 1978.  American Van operates three showrooms, has a robust online presence at and mails millions of catalogs annually to contractors and business owners all across the United States, offering practical storage solutions for vans and trucks. Unlike most catalog/retailers, it also manufactures most of the products it sells.

American Van Equipment is formed by All Steel Inc., a Pallet Rack and Shelving Company.
Product line begins to develop and expand with the introduction of the first mini-van to the market and the development of vehicle specific equipment.
The Company introduces the Freon Tank Tower which quickly becomes the HVAC industry’s standard for transporting Freon tanks.
Modular Storage Systems are introduced to enable customers to configure storage systems to fit their needs.
American Van is acquired by the current management team of Charles Richter, Richard Gebbia and Joseph Fallon.
As the company grows annual catalog mailings grow to 9 million solidifying American Van’s brand recognition and place in the marketplace.
American Van moves into its new and current 130,000 Sq. Ft. manufacturing and distribution facility.
With the introduction of higher roof vans American Van develops the broadest and most innovative line of high roof van components in the industry.
